Introduction:
Road maintenance is defined as the processes and resources that are combined to manage road conditions. It is part of the activities required to ensure an affordable and efficient road system. Unfortunately, maintenance is often neglected or improperly performed resulting in rapid deterioration of the road and eventual failure from both climatic and vehicle use impacts.
Purpose:
The primary goal of this project is to avoid the negative health impacts and potential accidents that have resulted from the dusty, rough, and poorly maintained road to the people situated in areas like this, particularly in Tibungoy and San Roque, Sta. Maria Davao Occidental. By carrying out this road maintenance project, the road will regain its shape, become totally cemented—most likely in areas that have not been cemented in a long time and as a result, pollution will reduce, hence, the likelihood of becoming unwell will diminish, and the likelihood of people being engaged in accidents will drop.

Road maintenance involves intervention or works required to keep the road it’s structure and property within the road margins as near as possible to their as-constructed or rehabilitated condition. Poorly maintained roads constrain mobility, significantly raise vehicle operating costs, increase accident rates and their associated human and property costs, and aggravate isolation, poverty, poor health, and illiteracy in rural communities. Work that takes place on roads from motorways to unclassified roads to ensure they remain strong, safe and efficient. Road maintenance takes many forms, from pothole repair to re-applying highway surfacing, but the overarching aim is to keep road users safe, manage traffic and maintain upkeep.

Poorly maintained roads constrain mobility, significantly raise vehicle operating costs, increase accident rates and their associated human and property costs, and aggravate isolation, poverty, poor health, and illiteracy in rural communities therefore our team has come up with this Road Maintenance project with an estimated budget needed that ranges from 100,000 pesos -150,000 pesos. This project highlights the economic and social importance of regular road maintenance for a safer, more comfortable means of transportation.
